Harvey was born and raised in Pennsylvania, growing up on a dairy farm where a strong work ethic and deep connection to agriculture took root.

He worked in new residential construction after high school learning valueable skills

After operating his own dairy for four years, he sold out and relocated to Washington State, serving as a herdsman for a local dairy.

He then became the operations manager for GFI Hay Export.

With a partner he founded Westar Trucking Inc which hauled export hay before buying out his partner and transitioning to working with Walmart, Frito Lay, and Lowes hauling loads to Tacoma port that are then shipped to their Alaska locations.

In 2025 he formed Outlook Flower and Bulb to develop marketing for J Martin and Friend Farm, blending his agricultural roots with innovative business ventures.

Joel Martin

Joel was born in Sunnyside, Washington and later moved to Outlook, Washington.

Ever since the day he saw the flapper on the tractors smokestack, he has always been interested in farming. As a young boy playing on his Opa’s farm equipment and watch his Opa’s operation the interest in farming was born.

He started work on the farm in high school which formed a passion to continue the farm after his Opa retired.

Joel attended college at Washington State University to pursue a degree in agriculture economics. After graduating the opportunity to run the farm came when his Opa decided to retire.

In 2019 Joel started his business J Martin and Friend Farms.

After six years of farming the love of farming continues to grow, as he strives to grow a quality product for everyone to enjoy.
